Prehistoric Megalodon Sharks Tooth Fossil OVER 3.6 Million Years Old

Extinction of a mega shark. We know that the Carcharocles Megalodon or Megalodon AKA The "Meg" had become extinct by the end of the Pliocene era roughly 2.6 million years ago. During a time when the planet had entered a phase of global cooling.

The exact extinction time frame is currently unknown, however new evidence suggests that it was a minimum of at least 3.6 million years ago. Personally I would have loved to have not only seen what this thing looked like whole, but to have also had the opportunity to have held a fully matured and still completely intact one in my hands as I've done with this one! However knowing what I do about this the species that this particular fossil belonged to and having the opportunity to hold and examine it has nevertheless still been a very memorable experience for me it's not every day that a close friend stops by to bring you a fossilized tooth belonging to one if the biggest apex predators that has ever roamed the depths of our planets ancient oceans! Even though it is a broken sample of the once fearsome King of the oceans, it still weighs in at a whopping 5.5 almost 6 oz and spans the length of nearly a full 3.5 inches!

I'd imagine that the original tooth when whole must have very easily been 5 or 6 inches in length of not more! Although the condition it is currently in, is the condition it was already in by the time it found its way into my possession and so I unfortunately do NOT have any of the rest of the pieces of the tooth.

Teachers students and collectors please note that I have several other types of Fossilized Prehistoric remains available for sale some of which are not yet listed anywhere I even have a couple of different grab bags containing numerous different fossils per bag. I also have a variety of different minerals such as variety of different types of crystals, semi-precious gems, iron pyrite, snowflake obsidian and so on.

I also have several books pertaining to fossils as well as even some about the evolution of mankind!
